Front-end Web Developer and Designer

The role

This is an opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic web designer and front-end developer to join our small team in Sheffield, working with clients worldwide. You will be passionate about making outstanding websites, be obsessive with the fine details, and won’t be afraid to stand up and say how you think something should be done. About Aiir

Aiir is creative digital company based in Sheffield and New York, building products for the broadcast radio industry. Operating since 2003, we’ve steadily built up a large international client base through close relationships and a reputation for excellence. Our products include websites, mobile applications, a studio interaction dashboard, voucher shop, and email marketing. At the heart of our offering is an elegant CMS platform, built and maintained completely in-house.


You will be working with the lead designer and alongside the development team. Typical activities might include:

  • Brainstorming ideas and working collaboratively to achieve the best results
  • Designing and implementing first class websites
  • HTML/CSS/JS implementation
  • Learning about the latest technologies and techniques, ready to apply the next day
  • Consulting with clients on their specification/brief via project management tool 'Basecamp'
  • Welcoming clients to the office, or heading out to visit their locations

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have:

  • Ideally a computing and design related degree, and able to demonstrate abilities in web design and development
  • Top knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and what makes great web design
  • Experience with Photoshop or Sketch
  • A great understanding of responsive design
  • Pride themselves on producing clean, efficient code, giving careful consideration to accessibility
  • Superb attention to detail
  • No problem with independently prioritising their workload and meeting deadlines
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written Brainstorming ideas and working collaboratively to achieve the best results

It would be great if you had any of the following, but don’t be put off if not!

  • Knowledge of how to take things further, with technologies like SASS and jQuery.

How we work

This is a full time position working Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:30 with occasional travel and weekend work when required.

Our office environment is fun and informal, with a great view of the city center. We've got comfy couches, TVs, an espresso machine, Sonos for background music and we're based in a cool community of other like-minded creative companies.   • Starting salary: c£20,000pa
